UTHealth Houston School of Public Health at Brownsville

UTHealth Houston School of Public Health has six different locations across the state of Texas.

Project Goal

Work alongside the university dean, UTHealth School of Public Health marketing director, other marketing leads from the other schools, students, communications, and media team, and student affairs team to develop and implement a marketing plan for the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health at Brownsville Texas. The marketing plan would explore several marketing efforts such as print, digital, outdoor, and indoor marketing and collaborations with other universities and programs.
  • Help the university stand out amount from competing neighboring universities 
  • Understand how we can better help the university students and potential students
  • Develop and implement ways to navigate the language barriers in the community
  • Learn how to market the university location among the several School of Public Health locations
  • Narrow down the target audience and potential target audience 
  • Engage high school students in Public Health


Student Focus Groups


  • Coordinated all the logistics for all the focus groups and focus group team meetings and all other meetings
  • Direct question ideation among the marketing team
  • Lead communication with students and non-UTHealth Houston School of Public Health students
  • Collaborate with student affairs and other programs within the university to help the student focus group efforts
  • Work alongside the dean to move the project forward
  • Collaborated with student affairs and other university programs to find possible participants for a total of 6 focus groups (English and Spanish)
  • Compiled and presented data to the university dean, marketing team, and other marketing teams from the six universities



Social Media Strategy & Management




  • Create and implement a social media strategy specific to reach our target audience
  • Manage all social media accounts for UTH Houston SPH Brownsville 
  • Develop Brownsville UTHealth Houston School of Public Health branding guide to be utilized on social media following the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health branding guidelines
  • Lead content creation, video editing, and design
  • Design social media templates following the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health Brownsville location branding guide that other team members can utilize
  • Work alongside other marketing leads to develop and implement social media strategies and ideas that could be used individually among our schools or as a collective with the main UTHealth Houston School of Public Health social media accounts
  • Present social media KPI to the marketing team




Website




  • Responsible for constatly updating all Brownsville pages and adding new pages when needed
  • Lead constant communications with IT team and university UX/UI team to make sure the Browsville location site was running well and stay up to date with potential changes
  • Work alongside student affairs, faculty, students, and media and communications to promote new events, stories, and achievements happening within the Brownsville location
  • Ideate new ideas to better the universities UX/UI
  • Delivered all communications of potential changes from higher-ups with the university dean and marketing team





Environmental Design




  • Develop environmental design ideas
  • Present and lead environmental design ideas and meetings
  • Work alongside marketing and design team members to create several environmental designs based on the marketing budget
  • Worked alongside the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health marketing department to make sure we were following UTHealth School of Public Health design guidelines
  • Lead all communications with the admin team and vendor



Outdoor Marketing




  • Brainstorm outdoor marketing ideas individually and with the marketing team
  • Direct marketing meetings to finalize outdoor marketing efforts
  • Develop communications for billboard advertising, present among the marketing team, and edit as needed
  • Design several billboard advertising designs and present them to the marketing team
  • Revise and edit designs based on several marketing teams from different School of Public Health Guidelines
  • Lead all communications with student affairs, vendors, and marketing director of UTHealth Houston School of Public Health
  • Keep consistent communications with vendors
  • Coordinated all the logistics for finding and selecting billboard locations and payments
